By creating an account or using Memo Chat+ (“the Service”, “we”, “us”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. We reserve the right to update these terms at any time; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
Memo Chat+ is an AI-powered exam-preparation chat platform. The Service includes an AI tutor (Student and Teacher modes) for 11 exams, in-chat reading/writing/listening practice with AI marking, live AI speaking practice with voice, a shared study room, exam guides, and lesson-material generation for teachers. Usage is measured in monthly credits (see Section 5).
Our AI features are powered by Claude (Anthropic) and OpenAI models. The AI is prompted to apply official scoring criteria as accurately as possible, but AI scoring is inherently imperfect and cannot replicate a certified human examiner. Exam formats, scoring, and task types described in the Service are checked against exam boards’ official documentation periodically, but exams change — always verify critical details with the official exam board.
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity under it. Notify us at support@ieltsmemo.com if you suspect unauthorised access. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
You agree not to:
You retain ownership of the content you submit. By submitting content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to process, store, and analyse it solely to provide the Service to you. Messages posted in the shared study room are visible to other participants. We do not use your content to train AI models. See our Privacy Policy.
Speaking Practice requires microphone access. By enabling it you consent to your speech being transmitted to OpenAI’s API for transcription and examiner-voice generation. Raw audio is never stored by Memo Chat+; transcripts, scores, and feedback are stored and deletable from your history. Do not speak personal or sensitive information during practice sessions. You may revoke microphone access at any time in your browser settings.
All content, software, and design of Memo Chat+ is owned by us and protected by intellectual-property laws. IELTS, TOEFL, TOEIC, PTE, Cambridge English, OET, Duolingo English Test, SAT, GRE, GMAT, and 看護師国家試験 are trademarks of their respective owners (including IDP Education, the British Council, Cambridge Assessment English, ETS, Pearson, CBLA, Duolingo, the College Board, and GMAC). Memo Chat+ is an independent service and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any of these organisations.
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI feedback will be accurate or suitable for your specific needs.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Memo Chat+ shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of exam scores, opportunity, or data — arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or US$50, whichever is greater.
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from the account menu; deletion is immediate and permanent. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.
We are not liable for failure or delay caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including infrastructure outages, third-party API unavailability (including Anthropic, OpenAI, Stripe, or Vercel), natural disasters, or government actions.
These terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first; if unresolved, they shall be submitted to the courts of Japan, unless applicable consumer-protection law in your country of residence grants you the right to bring proceedings in your local courts.
